US Launches New Drone Defense Marketplace

The United States Department of Defense (DoD) has contracted Kaizen Laboratories to establish and operate a unified, bidirectional drone defense (C-UAS) marketplace, cuas.mil, following the success of Ukraine’s Brave1 Market.

Brave1 Market Success Drives US Initiative

Inspired by Ukraine’s Brave1 Market, where military units purchase drones and armed robots, the US platform aims to streamline the acquisition of drone defense systems. The initial prototype was limited to a select group of US military units, but the fully expanded version launched August 4, 2026, is now accessible to US military and security agencies, as well as authorized international allied governments and militaries.

AI-Powered System for Rapid Adaptation

The platform utilizes artificial intelligence, the ‘Capacity Planner,’ allowing operators to describe a threat in simple language and receive AI-driven recommendations for suitable equipment. Kaizen’s platform provides a user-friendly interface for exploring, filtering, and searching for validated drone defense technologies based on specific mission needs. The marketplace is managed by the Joint Interagency Task Force – Cyber Operations (JIATF-401).

Supporting Foreign Military Sales

The initiative supports the DoD’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, integrating with existing acquisition channels to accelerate requirements development and reduce timelines for overseas military sales. The US drone industry produces 10 million drones annually and secured $6.5 billion in contracts in 2026.
