Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S26 series last month, but most upgrades were predictable, including the Privacy Display on the S26 Ultra. One feature rumored for the S26 Ultra didn't materialize, and we'll reportedly have to wait until 2028 for it.

Rumors are pointing to the Galaxy S28 Ultra adopting a long-awaited 10-bit display, a feature that was also rumored for the S26 Ultra but failed to appear. A 10-bit panel would offer 1.07 billion colors, a significant upgrade from the 16.7 million colors of an 8-bit display.

While the difference might be imperceptible to most users, it could provide a noticeable improvement when viewing 10-bit media or gradients. The Galaxy S26 series, along with most other smartphones, feature 8-bit displays.

Industry observer CID posted on X that the Galaxy S28 Ultra will feature a 10-bit display, but it's worth noting that Samsung could still change its plans before the phone's release in 2028. Even reputable leaker Ice Universe claimed the S26 Ultra would have a 10-bit display, which turned out to be false.
