Nothing phone (4a) expands color lineup to include black and blue

If vibrant smartphones are your thing, the upcoming Nothing Phone (4a) is delivering on its promise to inject some fun back into tech. During Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, we got a firsthand look at the device, and the color options just got a significant boost.

More hues for the minimalist

While Nothing initially teased the Phone (4a) in pink, the company confirmed the addition of black and blue to its palette. This expands the choices beyond the already available white, giving consumers a total of four shades to select from.

The blue is described as a refreshing take on the color, avoiding the dullness of some darker options while remaining more subdued than a true navy. The classic black offers a welcome return for those who've found many brands moving away from it.

The pink, in particular, appears to be a carefully considered hue – not overly bold, which could be a smart move.

The white variant leans slightly grey, offering a more sophisticated alternative to stark white.

The Phone (4a), slated for a March 5th announcement, won't be a flagship device but positions itself as a mid-range contender. Rumored specs include a 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a triple-camera system consisting of a 50MP main lens, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and a 5,400 mAh battery with 50W wired charging are also expected.

Pricing details remain scarce, but indications point to a retail price of around $460. This positioning will put it in direct competition with devices like the Pixel 7a.

The inclusion of a telephoto lens alongside an ultra-wide is noteworthy, suggesting a focus on versatility in photography.

Nothing's strategy seems clear: deliver a stylish, capable device without the premium price tag. The competition in the mid-range market is fierce, and the Phone (4a) may just carve out a significant space.
