New infrastructure boosts real-time data processing
The alliance combines AT&T's existing IoT network core with Cisco's Mobility Services Platform. This architecture enables localized data processing, promising quicker speeds, enhanced security, and improved reliability for applications ranging from smart factories to transportationnetworks.
Nvidia's AI Grid, developed in conjunction with Cisco, will bring AI processing capabilities directly to edge devices. This means data analysis happens near the source, reducing latency and enabling real-time decision-making. The GPUs, specifically the Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition, will be integrated into network infrastructure, handling both wireless traffic and AI computations simultaneously.
“Distributed computing is the next frontier” for AI infrastructure, according to Chris Penrose, Global VP of Business Development, Telco at Nvidia. He points out that telecommunications networks are central to this expansion.
