Apple releases ios 26.4 beta 4 amidst siri 2.0 delays

apple has released iOS 26.4 Beta 4, but it doesn't come with the highly-anticipated Siri 2.0 features. The digital assistant's rollout has been marred by numerous delays, with the latest beta simply offering a new accessibility setting called Reduce Bright Effects.

Reduced bright effects in accessibility now available

The renamed option, previously known as Reduce Highlighting Effects, minimizes highlighting and flashing when interacting with on-screen elements like buttons or keyboards. This change reduces the shimmering Liquid Glass effect on buttons.

New emoji and skin tones added in ios 26.4 beta 4

apple has also included new emoji in the latest beta, such as a trombone, treasure chest, distorted face, and hairy Bigfoot-like creature. Existing emoji are receiving updates, including new skin tones for wrestling figures and dancers with bunny ears. The ballet dancer emoji now has a gender-neutral option.

To install the update, go to Settings> General>Software Update and follow the on-screen instructions. iOS 26.4 Beta 4 and iPadOS 26.4 Beta 4 are the first beta releases compatible with the new iPhone 17e and iPad Air M4, respectively.
