The latest render visualizations, based on ongoing supply chain leaks and Prosser’s sources, indicate a shift towards a dual-camera configuration for the iPhone Air 2. This move directly addresses a key criticism leveled at the initial Air model – its reliance on a single 48MP sensor, lacking dedicated ultra-wide and telephoto capabilities.

Prosser’s information, sourced from undisclosed channels, points to the Air 2 incorporating a 48MP primary lens alongside a matching 48MP ultra-wide lens. This effectively eliminates the need for accessory lenses, streamlining the user experience and potentially reducing manufacturing costs.

Price hike and design tweaks

Interestingly, analysts at J.P. Morgan, corroborated by Prosser’s data, predict a $50 price increase on the iPhone Air 2. However, this figure is considerably lower than previous, more optimistic estimates of $100 to $300. apple is reportedly redesigning Face ID architecture to accommodate the added camera module, requiring a reduction in internal volume.

Furthermore, the sequel will retain the signature titanium build of the first generation, alongside the anticipated A20 or A20 Pro chip – a 2nm process node promising enhanced performance and efficiency. The launch is currently slated for spring 2027, alongside the base iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18e.
