Google Maps is making life easier for electric vehicle (EV) owners with the rollout of its AI-powered charging feature for over 350 car models. The feature, which uses artificial intelligence to predict when and where drivers will need to recharge, is now available on Android Auto.

The feature uses a combination of AI and advanced energy models that know the vehicle's weight and battery size. When a destination is typed in, Google Maps analyzes real-time traffic data, weather conditions, and road elevation to determine when and where a driver will need to charge. It then provides estimated battery levels at the destination, as well as updated Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) based on the charging stops.
This means EV owners can plan their trips more accurately, without constantly worrying about running out of battery power. The feature also eliminates the need to juggle between multiple apps, as all the important charging information is now available within Google Maps.

To take advantage of this feature, EV owners need to add their vehicle information to the Google Maps app. Currently, the following vehicle brands are supported:
