At&t accuses t-mobile of misleading customers with easy switch tool

Telecommunications giant AT&T has taken legal action against rival T-Mobile, alleging the carrier's Easy Switch tool is deceitful and misleads customers into switching plans.

T-mobile's easy switch in question

T-Mobile's Easy Switch allows customers of AT&T and Verizon to seamlessly transition to T-Mobile in just 15 minutes using the T-Life app.

The tool uses AI to analyze the customer's existing accounts, recommending the best T-Mobile plan for them. Initially, it required logging into the customer's AT&T or Verizon account, but now only requires billing information.

AT&T alleges T-Mobile's Switching Made Easy campaign is misleading, promising huge savings and swift switching that are not accurate.

AT&T claims the Easy Switch tool lumps in optional extras or bundled perks that customers didn't request, providing an inflated view of savings.

The tool, according to AT&T, pits premium AT&T plans against cheap T-Mobile plans, rather than providing an apples-to-apples comparison.

T-mobile's defense

T-Mobile maintains that it provides more savings and value to customers than its rivals, despite cheaper plans being available, 60% of its customers opt for premium plans.
